SPORTS NUTRITION

In sports nutrition and sports nutrition food, taurine, creatine monohydrate, BCAA (branched-chain amino acids) and other raw materials are common functional ingredients, which are mainly used to meet the needs of sports people in terms of energy supplementation, muscle protection, and recovery. These ingredients are the core functional ingredients of sports nutrition food by targeting energy expenditure, muscle damage, fatigue accumulation and other problems during exercise, helping to improve sports performance and recovery efficiency.

*Taurine

Core function: Relieve exercise fatigue, maintain energy metabolism, protect cardiovascular and nervous system.

Application Scenarios:

• Sports drinks: Quickly replenish water and electrolytes while adding taurine (usually 500-1000mg per bottle) to help relieve fatigue during exercise, suitable for moderate to high-intensity aerobic exercise (such as running, cycling).

• Energy drinks: Formulated with caffeine and other ingredients to enhance the refreshing effect and improve sports performance, it is suitable for sports that require short-term explosive power (such as sprinting, weightlifting).

• Sports Supplement: Added to a complex nutritional powder (such as sports meal replacement powder) to assist in maintaining normal physiological functions during exercise.

• Features: good water solubility, strong high temperature resistance, easy to match with other raw materials, high safety, suitable for all kinds of sports nutrition dosage forms.

*Creatine monohydrate

Core function: Increase phosphocreatine reserves in muscles, enhance muscle explosiveness and strength, and promote muscle recovery after exercise.

Application Scenarios:

• Strength training supplements: in the form of pure creatine powder and creatine compound powder, it is common in the muscle gain period of fitness people, with a recommended daily intake of 3-5g, and it needs to be combined with carbohydrates to promote absorption.

• Pre-Workout Bars/Gels: Add a small amount of creatine (1-2g) to provide energy support for short, high-intensity workouts (e.g., sprinting, weightlifting).

*BCAAs (BCAAs: Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine)

Core effect: Reduce muscle breakdown during exercise, promote muscle synthesis, relieve post-exercise soreness, especially suitable for endurance sports and high-intensity training.

Application Scenarios:

• Sports drinks/electrolyte water: Add BCAAs (usually 2:1:1) and supplement during long-term exercise (e.g., marathon, cycling) to prevent muscle loss.

• Protein Powder/Muscle Gainer: Added as a compound ingredient, it can be combined with whey protein to improve muscle recovery efficiency, suitable for supplementation after strength training.

• Pre/During/Post-Workout Supplement: 5-10g daily in standalone powder or capsule form to help maintain muscle status.

* Common application features

• Dosage form adaptation: It is mostly used in powders, beverages, energy bars, capsules and other dosage forms that are convenient for immediate replenishment.

• Synergistic effect: often combined with carbohydrates, electrolytes, vitamins, etc., to improve absorption efficiency and functional effect.

• Dosage control: The dosage should be adjusted according to the exercise intensity and the needs of the population to avoid the metabolic burden caused by excess (for example, excess creatine may increase the burden on the kidneys).
