Tabletting

Tabletting Technology is the technology of pressurizing powder, granules and other materials into tablets with a certain shape, hardness and size, and is one of the core technologies for the production of solid dosage forms in the fields of medicine, food, chemical industry and other fields. Its core is to use mechanical pressure to produce cohesion between material particles to form a dense tablet to achieve accurate dosage, convenient to take, stable storage and other purposes.

Main Process

1. Material preparation: Granular materials (pretreated by granulation technology) are usually used, which are required to have good fluidity and compressibility to ensure that the weight of the tablets is uniform and the hardness is qualified.

2. Filling: The particles are fed into the die hole of the tablet press, and the filling amount is controlled by the underpunch to ensure that the amount of material is consistent for each tablet.

3. Pressurized forming: The upper and lower punches apply pressure to the material in the die hole (the pressure range is usually a few tons to dozens of tons) to make the particles tightly bound to form a tablet.

4. Tablet ejection: After pressing and forming, the tablet is ejected from the die hole by the underpunch to complete a tableting cycle.

Typical Applications

• Pharmaceutical field: oral tablets (such as cold tablets, antibiotic tablets, vitamin tablets), effervescent tablets, lozenges, etc.

• Food field: chewable tablets (such as calcium tablets, probiotic tablets), effervescent tablets (such as vitamin C effervescent tablets), etc.

• Chemical industry: production of solid dosage forms such as detergent tablets and disinfectant tablets.
